Enhanced Temperature Control
Our PortaSpit allows you to not only adjust the temperature vertically but also horizontally. Rather than lowering the rod like you would on other spits, you can adjust the height of the fuel trays instead allowing for greater range to both increase and decrease the heat. Additionally, once the meat is cooked you can reduce the heat from the charcoal directly below.
Unrivalled Fuel Efficiency
As you are able to adjust the temperature more freely, you can cut down on the amount of charcoal needed. With other spits, you would need to keep stacking the charcoal as they break down to generate enough heat. As your meat cooks, you can adjust the height of the PortaSpit trays rather than stacking the charcoal and only top up as required.
Enhanced Safety Features
Rotisserie cooking has never been safer. As a joint of meat is cooked on a rotisserie it drips fat. In conventional solid fuel rotisserie appliances, the dripping fat will fall onto the hot charcoal located in the appliance body. The fat can ignite creating a dangerous fat fuelled fire. Our sliding fuel trays locate the heat source to the sides of the meat, not directly below, stopping fat dripping directly onto the hot charcoal. Simply slide the trays out just enough to let the fat drip through. This will stop the fires, generate less smoke and capture the fat in the base to keep things easy to clean.
